Hi, I’m Nico Mura. I am an Australian self-taught abstract artist of Romanian heritage. I started my journey as an artist in 2020 and I quickly discovered that art became my “sanctuary”. It added a new dimension of creativity and peace in my life. I enjoy using multiple surfaces such as canvas, wood, glass, or ceramic.
My art is a game of chance and discovery. It rewards the patient observer with stories that reveal themselves. It is the type of art that whispers its secrets only to those willing to listen with their eyes.
My work has been featured at the MiRA Marysville Art Centre, notably in the 2024 and 2025 exhibitions ‘Moments of Happiness,’ a title reflecting my belief that art is a vital refuge from the pressures of everyday life.
My drive and satisfaction yields from seeing people resonating with my work which I endeavour to present in exhibitions on a larger and larger scale. Maybe one day we will meet at the National Gallery of Victoria!
